A Rite of Passage

Megan has been scared to death to take the training wheels off her bike. Any time it's even mentioned she bursts into tears and runs to her room or cries to us that she NEVER wants the training wheels off her bike. So, a couple of evenings ago, David and I were upstairs and the girls were playing outside. Megan came into the house and up the stairs in full Xtreme Sport regalia and annouced, "I'm ready!!!" We weren't gonna miss out on that chance! David went right down and took the t-wheels off of her bike and they went back and forth on our street. Our street is perfect for this type of thing because it's one of the few in town that is level (town on a hill, remember?!) and we live on a dead end so there's hardly any traffic.

She did really well and David even let go a couple of times for just an instant and she kept on going! Not quite there all the way, yet, but baby, she's gettin' there! Daddy taking her training wheels off. Now she asks everyday if we'll help her practice!
Ready to go...I THINK! :)
Off to a wobbly start...
Almost to the end, then back. Repeat as often as necessary!
