Thanksgiving and a little help from her sister...

I realize that I haven't shared much with those of you who aren't here (you lucky ducks!) how our Thanksgiving went. We got together with 3 other families in our ward (with whom we are friends anyway) and a couple of single gentlemen from the ward who have no family in the area. Since there were going to be so many of us, we decided to have it at the ward building. It turned out really nicely! We made food assignments and there was PLENTY to eat, everything was delicious, and the kids had the whole building (minus the chapel, of course!) to run around and play. Our friends, the James family, have been in the south much longer than we and they knew how to cook a southern turkey dinner - DEEP FRIED!!! I was interested to try it but wasn't expecting much. Boy was I wrong!!! It was really good! Thanks, Cullen, for making that awesome turkey for us! We also had deep fried pork butt roast which was amazing as well. I made mashed potatoes (mommy style!), candied yams, hot spiced punch, and David made pumpkin pie dessert squares. I've included a picture of the tables in the cultural hall waiting for the feast to really get started!

The next little tidbit is from a couple of weeks ago when I went out to get the mail. The girls were home from school already and they had gone outside to play. I found 1 & 2 out there holding hands so that 1 could rollerblade without falling down. It's nice to have a sister to lean on in times like that!!! I sure love those little turkeys!
