As many of the Whitemarsh family already knows, Grandma Lora was able to come visit with us a couple of weekends ago. We had a fabulous time and crammed a LOT of stuff in a short 2 days! Here are a couple of highlights... We spent Saturday evening downtown seeing some of the sights and went to the Peabody Hotel to see the resident ducks. They swim in the lobby fountain and every evening at 5 pm the "Duck Master" takes them down the red carpet to the elevator and up to the roof where they sleep. They reverse the process each morning at 11. We had heard about how cool it was, but hadn't had the chance to see it until now. It was really fun and we got GREAT seats (right in front of the carpet where the ducks shake the water off their feathers!) We also were able to have a fun horse-drawn carriage ride around town and ate on Beale St. We listened to live blues music and had so much fun!!! We miss you already, grandma!
